Tencompetence Winter School is over
By sandra | February 24, 2008
Five days talking, learning, (net-)working & discussing are over. It was interesting, exhausting, funny, full of old disputes (technicians vs. educationalists and instructional design vs. constructivism), but also full of new ideas, insights, contacts, nice weather, great service, superb organisation (thanks Milos & Christian!).
One concrete result of the TEN competence winter school is that I will contribute to Christian Glahn’s “Team Space” – a mash up of tags & posts of winter school participants and TEN competence partners.
The following 3 quotations are not representative for the last week – but for different reasons I remember them very well. I just add the first names of the sources, I hope that this is okay for all.
- “After thirty years of teaching students I thought e-learning is a great opportunity to get rid of the view of unmotivated students ” (Maria)
- “I do not like this “life long learning” at all. I finished my studies and now I am a teacher, I do not like to learn any more!” (Sebastian)
- “Learning without changing is like sex … without a partner … because sex without a partner is … unproductive” (Albert – thanks for the weirdest learning analogy I have heard in my life!)
P.S. As you can see here, the winter school was really cool

[...] … As last year, the winter school was one of the most inspiring events, if not THE most interesting event to see current work and research in TEL. This year there was a focus on networks and personal learning environments. Additionally, I am really impressed about the obviously strong positive correlation between inspiring lecturers and funny persons as it is documented in the Web. [...]
